It was a great experience for us because the Spanish way of life is so different from ours. For example, the prices are very cheap and politeness is not the same as in France.

Our welcoming was very warm. In one week, we had a new family, new parents, and new sisters or brothers.

Spanish people wanted to fatten us !!!! Because they offered us so much delicious food like tortillas, churros or gaspacho.

They always cook with olive oil so food is so fatty at the end. Their breakfast is very generous, it’s like a morning lunch ; in fact for Spanish people it’s such an important meal : we had pieces of toast, tomatoes, olive oil, serano ham, orange juice.

At night, everybody is in the street, because the weather is fresher so it’s more pleasant.

This interresting trip has made European students closer from each other.

In the project, there were six countries, which spoke six different languages .

We haven't progressed a lot in English but we have progressed more in Spanish. On the first day, it was dificult to understand what Spanish students were saying but on the last day we understood more because we knew each other better and we no longer were afraid of speaking a foreign language.

For the first two days, everybody wanted to go back to France because we weren't comfortable and we felt alone.

Day after day, we started feeling better and at the end we wanted to stay in the Spanish families. On the last day, it was the hardest day, everybody was crying, all the families and the students.

We practised lots of activities but those that we prefered were:

  • A visit of the Alhambra with everybody
  • The castle of Alcala La Real, because the landscape was really beautiful
  • The olive factory, because we could try the olive oil. And it’s one of Spain’s most famous products
  • Hiking in the Natural Subetica Park
  • We cooked altogether to prepare « tortillas » and fried chicken
  • We practised some sport activities like frisbee and hockey
  • We went shopping in Malaga
  • During our free time we could speak with a lot of people to progress in Spanish.

Thanks to Europe we have lived a great and interesting experience. Allthe students were Europeans, even if we had some different cultures we could speak, have fun, laugh together.

We want to say « THANK YOU EUROPE » because without you we couldn’t have lived this travel in the beautiful, and warming country of Spain .
